Spy x Family Author Draws Anya Celebrating Digital Release of Opening Song “SOUVENIR”

Spy x Family manga author, Tatsuya Endo posted on September 30 an illustration of the series’ Anya Forger for the digital release of “SOUVENIR,” BUMP OF CHICKEN’s new song, which is the opening theme song for the anime’s second cour. The anime began broadcasting on October 1. It was a quote-tweet of the band’s post, which announced the release along with the lyrics on September 29.

The newly-released illustration shows the Forger family’s daughter and little Esper, Anya Forger happily celebrating the digital release of “SOUVENIR,” wearing her iconic pair of hair ornaments, a white one-piece dress, a long red-and-white stripe muffler, a pair of black boots, and what’s more, a cat’s tail. The costume is a reference to BUMP OF CHICKEN’s cat character, Nicole. In the picture, Anya clumsily fails to pronounce the “o” of the band’s name and calls the song’s name like a cat. Her line reads: “The stuff Bumpo f Chicken guys are singing came out. Souvenya~

James Cameron Reveals How Leonardo DiCaprio Almost Lost Titanic Role

Leonardo DiCaprio rose to the ranks of superstardom following his role in James Cameron’s Titanic. However, according to the director, the actor nearly lost out on his role for not wanting to audition for it.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Cameron spoke about the legendary 1995 film. According to him, DiCaprio was always at the top of his list to play Jack, but the role almost went to someone else after DiCaprio refused to read for the role.

“‘Oh, I don’t read,’” Cameron said DiCaprio told him before the director shook his hand and said, “Well, thanks for coming by.” It was then, Cameron said, that DiCaprio replied, “Wait, wait, wait, if I don’t read, I don’t get the part. Just like that?’”

Cameron went on to say that he told DiCaprio that Titanic was “a giant movie that is going to take two years of my life, and you’ll be gone doing five other things while I’m doing post-production. So I’m not going to f— it up by making the wrong decision in casting. So you’re going to read, or you’re not going to get the part.”

The director went on to say that DiCaprio did end up reading for the part, although he did joke that “every ounce of his entire being is entirely negative right up until I said, ‘Action,’ and then he turned into Jack. And Kate just lit up, and they went into this whole thing, and he played the scene. Dark clouds had opened up, a ray of sun came down and lit up Jack. I’m like, ‘All right, he’s the guy.’”

Of course, DiCaprio’s turn as Jack was what turned him from an already famous heartthrob into a superstar and would lead to countless roles for him in the future. As for Cameron, his next film, Avatar: The Way of Water, will premiere in theaters on December 16, 2022.

My Hero Academia Season 6: Katsuki Bakugo Gets New Visual, Voice Actor Comments

My Hero Academia Season 6 released a special character visual for Katsuki Bakugo along with the voice actor Nobuhiko Okamoto’s comment. The anime unveiled a special character visual for Shoto Todoroki and Tomura Shigaraki, and three characters, Izuku Midoriya also known as Deku, and Dabi, will also get new visuals in the future. The anime is airing every Saturday in Japan and the next, 9th episode titled “Katsuki Bakugo: Rising” was broadcast on November 26.

Nobuhiko Okamoto, who voiced roles as Accelerator in the Toaru series and Yu Nishinoya in Haikyu!, is voicing Katsuki Bakugo in the My Hero Academia anime. He describes the visual as:
The expression on his face and what’s in his line of sight can lead to ideas of both his growth from a child to an adult and his change of mentality… Such a delicate expression lets me have a lot of stories behind him, which is why I think he is a profound character. His aggressive words and behavior make him look like a cliched character, but he actually isn’t at all, this is what the visual shows. The visual is thought-provoking even to me, his voice actor, so I believe it will cause every one of the fans to give it a lot of thought.

The voice actor also made a comment about the episode:
Finally, “Katsuki Bakugo: Rising” will be broadcast. For me, this was the most difficult episode ever to play as Katsuki Bakugo. I had to show a new aspect of Bakugo, which means I had to make viewers think “It’s not like Bakugo” but at the same time, I had to make them think “This is the Bakugo”. It was difficult to make the contradiction work. I’m glad those who watch and those who listen to the anime feel “weird”, and I hope everyone enjoys the “weirdness”.

The newly-released visual shows fully-armed Katuki Bakugo with an unusual expression on his face:
